# A heading that shrinks as it grows

I'd been making comparison pages for the [Basedash](https://www.tomjohn.design/content/basedash) site, and the Metabase one was a page we wanted to promote [(0:10)](#t=10). I'd planned to do it as a template, but I thought it was a chance to do something custom. The heading started as "The power of Metabase +" and a list of features, and it was going to be way too big for an H1 [(0:54)](#t=54).

![The Metabase comparison page in Framer, captioned as I say: “there's a lot, it's gonna be too big for an H1. So I used Framer's Workshop. And”](https://nlzkl2bo0qmd3uti.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/talks/clips/framer-shrinking-heading/too-big-VaBR6aSvzaoaAQZTlWY1VEzNJQhUAg.mp4 "Clip")

So I made a heading where every line gets exponentially smaller, because I wanted to throw a lot into it [(1:09)](#t=69). It has properties for the size, how fast it decreases, the text, the font and the alignment.

![The heading, each line smaller than the last, captioned as I say: “is, is it's a, it's a heading that every line exponentially gets smaller, because I was like, I want to throw a lot in this heading, it kind of”](https://nlzkl2bo0qmd3uti.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/talks/clips/framer-shrinking-heading/exponentially-7HydSUab5ZTAn5IxdFd2iDiu6CHkw8.mp4 "Clip")

Framer's Workshop nailed it almost right away [(2:14)](#t=134). It had some trouble with OpenType features in our font, and some line spacing, but that was it [(2:00)](#t=120). My original prompt was terrible. Same idea as [my first Framer AI component](https://www.tomjohn.design/content/framer-ai-first-component).

Terrible prompt, but”](https://nlzkl2bo0qmd3uti.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/talks/clips/framer-shrinking-heading/terrible-prompt-emjekWeNmDaE2Iyc2s0ieMZPUyieqP.mp4 "Clip")

When I posted it on X I wrote:

> I made another weird random heading thing in Framer because why the heck not. It’s a component that makes text get smaller as there’s more of it. Will I use it??? No idea. But still fun to share.
